Lange tijd een magische klank
een krachtig nieuw statement
van een geheel eigen gelijk
wat is er van ZEN gekomen?

Kamikazepiloten voor de keizer
gewelddadig van hier tot Tokyo
monniken in vliegende bommen 
luid de bel voor hun laatste uur

En wij, stil zittend op ons bankje,
hebben onszelf slechts gedwongen
een denkbeeldige stilte in te gaan
een soort verlichting te bereiken

Later hoorden we van niet-dwang
en luisteren naar ’t lawaai in jezelf
en dat je ’t van niemand kon horen
je ZEN alleen zelf kunt ontdekken
